This is from Barry Ritholtz. It’s amazing if it’s real. It’s apparently an editorial cartoon from 1934. I would note, however, that it doesn’t appear to be on his blog anymore, so it’s possible it’s a hoax.

Define ‘Wise’ …

Another [Republican] party wise man, Fred Malek, told POLITICO the party now sits at its “nadir” – though he, like others, said its best hope is to wait for the economy to tarnish Obama.

“Our leaders’ arguments are falling on deaf ears today, but they are sound. It’s just a matter of time before this becomes Obama’s recession,” he said.

So, the Republican’s “wise man” is Nixon’s Jew counter, and his entire plan for the party is to pray for the economy to continue to collapse and hope everyone forgets that the damage was done prior to Obama taking office.

Good luck with that.
